Louisiana Meth Distributor Sentenced to 28 Years: 25 Kilograms Found in a Suitcase, 20,000 Pills at a Residence

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Louisiana announced that Justavious K. Williams, 25, of Bastrop in Morehouse Parish, Louisiana, has been sentenced to 28 years in federal prison. On October 21, 2026, U.S. Chief District Judge Terry A. Doughty sentenced Williams to 336 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to distribute and for possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Williams had pleaded guilty on July 10, 2026.
According to court documents, between May 16, 2025, and October 9, 2025, Williams participated in a methamphetamine trafficking organization. Investigators wiretapped a co-conspirator's phone and intercepted calls and messages in which Williams discussed acquiring and distributing large quantities of methamphetamine. On October 1, 2025, communications revealed the group was arranging to pick up a large shipment from Texas; Williams traveled to Garland, Texas, where agents watched him and a co-conspirator load a bright orange suitcase into a vehicle.
After the vehicle returned to Louisiana, Louisiana State Police attempted a traffic stop. Williams fled, leading troopers on a brief pursuit before he and the co-conspirator were caught and arrested. A search of the vehicle found approximately 25 kilograms of methamphetamine in the suitcase. Roughly a week later, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents searched a local address and recovered seven firearms along with quantities of ecstasy pills, methamphetamine, marijuana and other controlled substances; a cook lab trailer behind the residence contained 20,000 methamphetamine pills and more than three kilograms of additional powder methamphetamine.
U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Keller made the announcement. The case was investigated by the DEA, Louisiana State Police and Monroe Metro Narcotics, and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney J. Aaron Crawford under case number 3:25-cr-299. (Source: U.S. Department of Justice)
