'Glee' Reboot Officially Ordered at Disney+ and Hulu, More Than a Decade After the Finale

Disney+ and Hulu confirmed on October 21 that a reboot of the musical comedy-drama "Glee" has been officially ordered, to be produced by 20th Television. The platforms said in a joint announcement, "It's official, Glee is returning," but shared no casting or release timeline.
Created by Ryan Murphy and others, the original series ran on Fox for six seasons from 2009 to 2015, following the glee club at the fictional William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio, and won Golden Globes for best musical or comedy series. Murphy said last month that he, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan had finished a reboot script and that he had been in touch with around ten original cast members, who were enthusiastic but had not yet read it. The original cast included Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Chris Colfer and Darren Criss; late cast members Cory Monteith, Naya Rivera and Mark Salling were among its stars.
