Washington Man Sentenced to 13 Years in Prison for Trafficking Methamphetamine in Richmond

Wednesday, October 21, 2026 · Justice · GSM News

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia announced on October 21 that Gregory Pierce, 28, of Washington, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Roderick C. Young to 13 years in federal prison for distribution of methamphetamine and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

According to court documents, from December 2025 to February 2026, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents conducted four controlled purchases from Pierce at his room in a Richmond, Virginia, hotel, in which he sold a total of 425.86 grams of methamphetamine and, on one occasion, Oxycodone. On February 18, agents searched his hotel room and recovered from a safe, among other things, methamphetamine, a handgun, an extra barrel, amphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine hydrochloride, three digital scales, six credit or debit cards, and three rounds of ammunition.

Prosecutors said that after his arrest, Pierce attempted to obstruct justice by asking a third party to locate and intimidate a witness. The announcement was made by Theophani K. Stamos, First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, and Cindy Marx, Special Agent in Charge of the DEA's Washington Division. Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Gilliland prosecuted the case, No. 3:26-CR-23.
