Raleigh Details $203 Million Bond Package for November 3 Vote: About $101.5 Million Each for Housing and Transportation

Wednesday, October 21, 2026 · City · GSM News

In Raleigh, a city in Wake County, North Carolina, Raleigh voters will decide two separate bond questions on November 3 totaling about $203 million — roughly $101.5 million each for housing and transportation — under bond orders the City Council adopted on May 19. The city uses a "steady-state" debt fund model and says no property tax increase is needed.

The housing share allocates $57.6 million to development and preservation, $21.5 million to major project development, $12 million to homelessness response through Wake at Home, and $10.4 million to homebuyer assistance for households at or below 80 percent of area median income and to senior home programs. Transportation funds would go to street, sidewalk and transit-supporting projects across the city.
