Connecticut VA Health System Wins New Infrastructure Funding for Five Projects at West Haven and Newington

The VA Connecticut Healthcare System has received a new round of infrastructure funding for five projects at its West Haven and Newington campuses under the Veterans Health Administration's fiscal 2026 fourth-quarter non-recurring maintenance program, the Department of Veterans Affairs announced. Interim director Michael Renfrow said the projects will modernize aging facilities and improve the environment in which veterans receive care.
The Connecticut work is part of a national $4.8 billion VA infrastructure package that includes about $1.183 billion, $938 million and $560 million in its largest funding categories. VA officials said the investment targets long-deferred maintenance across the system, from building systems to clinical space, as the agency works through a backlog at hospitals and clinics nationwide.
