Florida Early Voting Under Way: More Than 1.1 Million Ballots Cast, About 933,000 by Mail
Early voting for the November 3 midterm elections is under way in Florida, and more than 1.1 million ballots had been cast statewide as of October 20, including about 171,000 in person at early voting sites and about 933,000 returned by mail, according to state elections data. Florida has about 13.7 million registered voters.
Both parties have returned mail ballots in large numbers as campaigns push supporters to bank votes before Election Day. Early in-person voting continues through October 31 in most counties.
Election officials remind voters that mail ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day to count, and voters who requested a mail ballot but choose to vote in person should bring the ballot to surrender at the polls.
