Marist Poll: Democrats Lead Ohio's Senate Special Election and Governor's Race
A Marist poll gives Democrats the lead in both of Ohio's marquee 2026 races: Sherrod Brown leads Jon Husted 48 to 44 percent in the special election for the U.S. Senate, and Amy Acton leads Vivek Ramaswamy 50 to 43 percent for governor.
Among independents, Brown leads Husted 50 to 35 percent. The survey of October 15-18 carries a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 points.
Husted, appointed in January 2025 to the seat vacated by Vice President J.D. Vance, is running to keep it.
Both races are expected to draw heavy national spending in the final two weeks before November 3.
