Cook Political Report Shifts South Carolina Senate Race Toward Democrats as Contest Tightens

The Cook Political Report has moved South Carolina's U.S. Senate race from "Likely Republican" to "Lean Republican," its second shift toward Democrats in less than a month, according to the Andrews campaign as reported by Holy City Sinner.
Democrat Andrews's campaign said it raised $9.4 million in the third quarter against $1.5 million for Senator Darline Graham, while a Senate leadership fund has committed at least $5 million on the Republican side. Recent polls are tight: Trafalgar 49-46, Rasmussen 49-45 and InsiderAdvantage 46-45.
South Carolina has not elected a Democratic senator since 1998. Darline Graham, sister of the late Senator Lindsey Graham, was appointed by Governor Henry McMaster on July 13 after Lindsey Graham's death on July 11, and was sworn in on July 14; she is running to keep the seat in the November 3 election.
