Sophia Bush: Sets Record Straight on Ashlyn Harris Romance Timeline, Says Both Had Filed for Divorce Before First Date
Actress Sophia Bush addressed the timeline of her relationship with former U.S. women's national team goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris during a Wednesday appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast. According to Page Six, Bush shut down speculation that the relationship overlapped with either of their previous marriages. When host Alex Cooper asked her directly whether she could confidently say there was no overlap, Bush replied, "I can say that." She described their first date this way: "Two people who had filed for divorce and lived in separate residences from their exes went to dinner." Bush also admitted she wishes the start of the relationship had been handled differently, saying both were coming off fresh splits and that she wishes the first date had taken place "six weeks later" than it did. "Everybody wishes they could've done a million things differently at the time," she said. Harris married her fellow U.S. international Ali Krieger in 2019, and the former couple adopted two children, daughter Sloane, 5, and son Ocean, 4. Harris filed for divorce in September 2023, and Page Six confirmed her romance with Bush the following month. Bush was married to businessman Grant Hughes for 13 months and filed for divorce in August 2023. In April 2024, she came out as queer in a Glamour cover story. Bush, known for playing Brooke Davis on One Tree Hill and Erin Lindsay on Chicago P.D., married Harris in 2025. On Wednesday she was also named to Out magazine's 2026 Out100 list, and her new memoir, And I Will Tell You Mine, recently reached bookstores.
