The league phase of the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League completes its third matchday on Wednesday, October 21, with nine fixtures. Two games kick off early, at 12:45 p.m. Eastern Time: Italian club Como 1907 hosts England's Manchester United, and France's Lille hosts Turkey's Galatasaray. The remaining seven matches kick off at 3 p.m. ET, with coverage in the United States on Paramount+ and select games on CBS Sports Network.
Wednesday's headline fixtures are Bayern Munich against Arsenal at the Allianz Arena in Munich and Real Madrid against RB Leipzig at the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid. Also on the schedule: Inter Milan hosts Shakhtar Donetsk, Aston Villa hosts Norway's Viking FK, Club Brugge hosts Lens, Real Betis hosts Feyenoord, and Sporting Lisbon hosts Austria's LASK Linz. Manchester United is seeking a response after a 2-0 league-phase defeat to Atlético Madrid earlier in the campaign.
The league phase features 36 clubs, each playing eight matches between September 8, 2026, and January 27, 2027. The top eight finishers advance directly to the round of 16 as seeded teams; clubs finishing ninth through 24th enter two-legged play-offs for the remaining places, and the bottom 12 are eliminated.
In Tuesday's first set of Matchday 3 games, Liverpool came from two goals down to beat Villarreal 4-3 for a third straight win, Manchester City beat AEK Athens 5-1 with a Phil Foden hat trick, and Paris Saint-Germain defeated Barcelona 4-2. Tuesday's other fixtures were Fenerbahçe against Slavia Prague, Sabah against Borussia Dortmund, Roma against Slovan Bratislava, Porto against PSV Eindhoven, Napoli against Bodø/Glimt and Stuttgart against Atlético Madrid.
