DeSantis Hosts Miami Roundtable in Support of Amendment 3 Property Tax Relief

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis hosted a roundtable in Miami on October 21 to campaign for Amendment 3, the proposed constitutional amendment on the November 3 ballot that would expand homestead property tax exemptions and set a path toward eliminating non-school property taxes on homesteads.
"In every county across the state of Florida, property tax revenue has increased by almost 100% in just seven years, from roughly $32 billion in 2019 to over $60 billion today, far outpacing inflation and population growth," DeSantis said. "Floridians deserve to keep more of their hard-earned money, so vote YES on Amendment 3." He noted the state budget has been cut four years in a row.
Miami-Dade County Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz voiced support, saying the county had earlier saved about $12 million by adopting new technology, proof that local governments can improve efficiency without cutting services.
