Mississippi Attorney General Names Cyber Director as Roblox Law-Enforcement Liaison

Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced on October 21 that her office's cyber director, Shawn Wolfe, will serve as Roblox's law-enforcement liaison officer for Mississippi. Fitch said Wolfe will ensure the attorney general's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force and other law-enforcement agencies have a direct channel to the gaming platform.
The appointment stems from a settlement Fitch reached with Roblox in June. Under the deal, Roblox agreed to appoint an in-state law-enforcement liaison providing agencies round-the-clock real-time or near-real-time access; the settlement also includes $9 million for digital literacy education, a $5 million performance bond, and child-safety measures including age verification, parental consent and a ban on nighttime push notifications. Fitch said at the time that Big Tech had put profits ahead of children's safety and mental health.
The liaison role is seen as a key mechanism for enforcing the settlement terms and combating online child exploitation.
