Montana Expands Jobs for Montana's Graduates Program to Colleges Statewide

The Montana Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) announced on October 21 that Jobs for Montana's Graduates (JMG) will expand beyond high school classrooms to colleges and education institutions statewide, as part of the state's 406 JOBS initiative. Initial partners include Flathead Valley Community College, Missoula College, Miles Community College, Dawson Community College, the college and career readiness center at Great Falls College, and the Montana Media Lab at the University of Montana School of Journalism.
Commissioner Sarah Swanson said colleges are key partners in preparing students for careers and supplying employers with talent, and that expanding JMG gives more students skills training, support and professional networks. Students practice communication, teamwork, workplace professionalism, resume writing, interviewing and career planning, and can earn the nationally recognized JAG workforce-readiness credential.
DLI is also offering startup funding of $3,500 to $10,000, scaled by size, for institutions, districts and community partners launching new JMG programs.
