West Virginia Early In-Person Voting Runs Through October 31; Sample Ballot Tool Launched

Early in-person voting for West Virginia's 2026 general election opened on Wednesday, October 21, and runs through October 31. Voters may cast ballots at their county courthouse, courthouse annex or designated community voting location during normal business hours; on the last two Saturdays before Election Day, sites must be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Secretary of State Kris Warner has rolled out an online sample ballot tool for the 2026 general election: voters enter their name, date of birth and county to preview every race on their ballot and print a sample ballot to bring to the polls. His office says the state has 1,210,297 registered voters, with 17,872 new registrations since the May primary.
This election is the first statewide general election under West Virginia's new photo ID requirement. Voter registration closed on October 13, and absentee ballot applications are due by October 28, including for military and overseas voters. Election Day is November 3; information is available at GoVoteWV.com.
