Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon Endorses Four More Republican Statewide Candidates

Thursday, October 22, 2026 · States · GSM News

Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon issued a statement on October 21 endorsing four more Republican candidates for statewide office and urging voters to support them, saying Wyoming is stronger under Republican leadership committed to limited government, fiscal conservatism and transparency.

Earlier in the week, Gordon had endorsed state Sen. Eric Barlow to succeed him as governor. On Wednesday he added four nominees who emerged from the Republican primary: Robert Short for secretary of state, incumbent Kristi Racines for state auditor, current state Treasurer Curt Meier, and veteran state lawmaker Steve Harshman for superintendent of public instruction.

Gordon said the four share commitments to responsible, fiscally conservative, civil and transparent limited government that puts Wyoming people first, in line with the state's "Code of the West" values. Gordon has served two terms as governor and is not seeking re-election. The November 3 general election will decide statewide offices including governor, secretary of state, auditor, treasurer and superintendent of public instruction, and the endorsements were seen as Gordon's effort to unify support behind the Republican statewide ticket before leaving office.
