Thursday, October 22, 2026 · States · GSM News

Governor Kathy Hochul announced on Oct. 21 the completion of Stately Apartments, a 57-unit affordable mixed-use development in Ithaca, Tompkins County. The $32 million project is available to households earning up to 60 percent of the Area Median Income. Twenty supportive apartments are reserved for eligible tenants struggling with homelessness, including survivors of domestic violence, with on-site services provided by Catholic Charities of Tompkins/Tioga and ground-floor commercial space.

The all-electric building, developed by Visum Development Group, Rockabill Development and Arbor Housing and Development, offers studio, one- and two-bedroom homes; six apartments are fully accessible for residents with mobility disabilities and three for residents with sensory disabilities. Under Governor Hochul, New York State Homes and Community Renewal has created or preserved nearly 800 affordable homes in Tompkins County. The project is part of the Governor's $25 billion five-year Housing Plan, which is on track to create or preserve 100,000 affordable homes statewide.
