Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) announced on October 21 the launch of a $200 million fundraising campaign, kicked off by a donation declared to be the largest philanthropic gift in the system's history. Georgia Trend relayed the Gainesville Times report on October 22.

NGHS President and CEO Dr. Matt Hanley said the campaign will help shape the system's next 75 years of care for its patients and community; the system marked its 75th anniversary on September 1. The report did not disclose the amount of the record gift or the donor's name. NGHS is the principal health care provider in northeast Georgia, and the $200 million campaign is the largest fundraising effort in its history, intended to build patient care capacity for decades to come.
