Fox News Poll: Maine Senate Race Tied, Collins and Jackson at 49% Each

A Fox News poll released on October 22 shows Maine's U.S. Senate race tied, with Republican incumbent Senator Susan Collins and Democratic challenger Troy Jackson at 49% each. The survey was conducted October 16-20 among 1,689 registered voters, with a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2 percentage points, and all interviews were completed after the candidates' October 15 debate.
The poll found that 53% of voters are concerned that Collins votes with President Donald Trump too much, while 46% are concerned that Jackson is too liberal. Only 12% of voters say their family's financial situation is better than two years ago, and 62% disapprove of Trump's job performance as president, including 54% who strongly disapprove. Collins is seeking a sixth term and is the only Republican senator running for re-election this year from a state Trump lost in 2024.
In the governor's race, Democrat Hannah Pingree leads Republican Bobby Charles by 49% to 39%, with independent candidate Rick Bennett at 9%. Democratic enthusiasm is notably higher: 79% of Democrats said they are extremely interested in the election, compared with 61% of Republicans. The Fox News poll was conducted jointly by Beacon Research, a Democratic firm, and Shaw & Company Research, a Republican firm.
