London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) announced on October 22 that it will acquire Octus, a U.S. credit intelligence and data company, for $3.535 billion in cash from funds managed by Permira and Octus management. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2027.

Founded in New York in 2013 by Kent Collier, Octus provides credit intelligence, data and workflow tools to asset managers, investment banks, insurers and law firms. It employs more than 900 people, serves 750 clients and has more than 40,000 users. Octus expects revenue to exceed $300 million in 2026, with an adjusted EBITDA margin of about 40%.

LSEG Chief Executive David Schwimmer said Octus is highly complementary to LSEG's business and that the acquisition will strengthen the group's position in credit data.
