Thursday, October 22, 2026 · World News · GSM News

At the Foreign Ministry's regular press briefing on October 22, spokesperson Mao Ning took a question from a Reuters reporter, who said the Philippine side is still exploring deeper cooperation with Taiwan to protect undersea cables and respond to "gray zone" activities, and asked for China's response.

Mao said there is no "gray zone" on the Taiwan question, that the Philippine side should honor the one-China principle through concrete actions, and that external exchanges by China's Taiwan region should be handled strictly in accordance with the one-China principle.
