A presidential proclamation has designated October 2, 2026, as National Manufacturing Day. The proclamation states that the skill and ingenuity of American workers have driven the nation's strength and industrial might for 250 years, and that the day honors the men and women who make, build and create in America.

Figures cited in the proclamation include more than $11.2 trillion in U.S. and foreign investments secured across manufacturing, critical infrastructure and technology sectors; 112,000 new factory construction workers building since the President returned to office; and 72,000 new manufacturing jobs added so far in 2026. It also cites the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, which made the Small Business Tax Deduction permanent and allows manufacturers to immediately expense 100 percent of factory, machinery, equipment and domestic research and development investments.

President Trump called upon all Americans to celebrate the entrepreneurs, innovators and workers in manufacturing. National Manufacturing Day is observed by presidential proclamation on the first Friday of October, which fell on October 2 this year.
