House Oversight Democrats Escalate StubHub Probe: CEO Questioned Over Ticket Resale Fund

Thursday, October 22, 2026 · Finance · GSM News

Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, wrote on October 22, 2026, to Eric Baker, Managing Director of Andro Capital, demanding answers about the fund's relationship with ticket resale platform StubHub. Baker also serves as CEO of StubHub. Oversight Democrats said the letter escalates their ongoing investigation into the ticket resale market.

In the letter, Garcia wrote that Andro Capital is one of the bulk ticket purchasers that buy up tickets to resell, and that Baker's dual role as Managing Director of Andro Capital and CEO of StubHub raises concerns of preferential treatment, abusive practices and bad deals for concertgoers, sports fans and artists. Citing StubHub's securities filings, he said Andro Capital maintains a related-party relationship with StubHub beyond that of an ordinary ticket broker, and requested information about the role Andro Capital plays in the ticket market and how the relationship may unfairly raise costs for consumers and limit profits for artists.

Garcia said Baker appears to be using his positions at both companies to profit, potentially at the expense of customers, fans and artists, calling the apparent conflict of interest unacceptable. Garcia had previously written to Baker as StubHub CEO in July 2026. StubHub has previously said Baker's relationship with the fund was fully disclosed in its public SEC filings. The committee's October 22 release did not include a new response from StubHub.
