Arkansas: Governor Announces 344 Regulatory Changes to Cut Red Tape

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced in Little Rock on October 21 the results of a statewide regulatory review: 13 state departments identified 344 changes intended to make permits, licenses and other regulatory approvals faster, simpler, less costly and less burdensome.
The review stems from Executive Order 26-04, which Sanders signed on February 16, 2026, instructing state agencies to review how Arkansas issues permits, licenses and other regulatory approvals.
According to the Governor's Office, the 13 departments completed the review under the executive order and together identified 344 ways to improve those approvals. Details of the individual changes and implementation steps will be set out by the Governor's Office and the departments involved.
