Louisiana: Health Department Offers No-Cost Flu Shots at Parish Health Units This Week

The Louisiana Department of Health's (LDH) Office of Public Health is holding no-cost flu vaccination clinics at parish health units across the state as flu season gets under way, with several clinics open this week.
According to the department, free flu shots were available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 20 at the Bunkie Parish Health Unit, 406 Walnut St. in Bunkie, Avoyelles Parish, and a clinic followed on October 21 at the LaSalle Parish Health Unit, 1673 N. 2nd St. in Jena. Flu shots at the clinics are offered at no cost.
The department said that with flu season starting in Louisiana, now is the time to get an annual flu shot. Dates and locations for clinics in other parishes are listed in the department's clinic notices, and residents can also call their local parish health unit to confirm.
