Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey announced on October 21 that the state will award $14.5 million to expand career and technical education (CTE) at six schools. The Governor's Office release on mass.gov said the new grants will expand hands-on training opportunities for approximately 500 additional students each year.

The announcement came during Massachusetts STEM Week 2026, held October 19-23. The administration said STEM Week features celebrations and funding announcements across the state aimed at expanding hands-on learning and preparing students for future careers.

Also on October 21, Healey announced $5 million to expand and improve child care and afterschool facilities through six major projects, increasing child care capacity and improving learning environments. The schools and projects receiving each set of grants are listed in the Governor's Office releases.
