Oklahoma: Governor Proclaims October Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Thursday, October 22, 2026 · States · GSM News

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt, together with the Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES), proclaimed October 2026 as Cybersecurity Awareness Month in the state.

This year's observance aligns with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) theme Securing the Next 250, marking the nation's 250th anniversary. State Chief Information Officer Dan Cronin said the state continues to strengthen cyber defense and response across agencies.

According to OMES, its Oklahoma Cyber Command monitors and responds to threats around the clock, and the Oklahoma Information Sharing and Analysis Center (OK-ISAC) shares threat intelligence between the public and private sectors. The state encouraged residents to review their personal account security during the month.
