Utah: State Leaders Announce Fuel Supply, Water and Refining Agreements

Utah state leaders have announced a set of agreements on fuel supply, water and refining, according to a news release from the Governor's Office. House Speaker Mike Schultz said the agreements will bring nearly 800,000 additional gallons of fuel into the market every day, increasing competition and putting downward pressure on prices at the pump for Utah families facing high gas prices.
The package also includes a memorandum of understanding between the Utah Department of Natural Resources and partners in Idaho on the management and protection of the Bear River system. DNR Executive Director Joel Ferry said Utah is working with the petroleum industry and neighboring states to secure long-term water and energy stability.
Senate President J. Stuart Adams and Utah Petroleum Association President Rikki Hrenko-Browning also spoke in the announcement. The Governor's Office said the agreements are designed to expand supply and stabilize essentials Utahns rely on.
