KIGALI — Rwandan President Paul Kagame met Nigeria's Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, at Urugwiro Village on October 22 to discuss deepening defence cooperation between the two countries. Shaibu has been on a five-day visit to Rwanda since October 18.

During the visit, Shaibu also met Rwanda's defence minister, the chief of defence staff and Army Chief of Staff Major General Vincent Nyakarundi, and toured the Rwanda Engineering Manufacturing Company (REMCO) to see the country's defence industry capabilities.
