Rams Captain Landman Ruled Out Against Raiders With Concussion
INGLEWOOD, California — Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay confirmed on October 23 that team captain and defensive signal-caller Nate Landman has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders with a concussion.
Landman entered the concussion protocol on Monday after playing 71 of 72 defensive snaps and recording 10 tackles against the Arizona Cardinals. He leads the Rams with 51 total tackles (27 solo) and two forced fumbles this season and had never missed a game since joining the team.
The Rams' defense is stretched thin: defensive tackle Poona Ford is out for the season and Kobie Turner is on short-term injured reserve, while cornerback Trent McDuffie and receiver Puka Nacua are questionable. With Landman out, Omar Speights, Shaun Dolac and Grant Stuard will share linebacker duties, veteran Eric Kendricks is set to be elevated from the practice squad, and Quentin Lake is expected to take over defensive play-calling.
