Trump Endorses Full Alabama Republican Slate: Moore for Senate, Tuberville for Governor

Friday, October 23, 2026 · States · GSM News

In a message released on October 22, President Donald Trump endorsed the Republican Party's full slate for Alabama's 2026 elections, covering the U.S. Senate, the governorship, lieutenant governor, attorney general and all six U.S. House seats, and urged the state's voters to make a plan to vote early.

For the Senate seat, Trump backed Barry Moore, the current U.S. representative for the 2nd District. Incumbent Senator Tommy Tuberville will not seek re-election to the Senate and is instead running for governor — he won his Senate seat in 2020 with Trump's endorsement. The picks for lieutenant governor and attorney general are John Wahl and Katherine Robertson. The six House candidates are Jerry Carl in the 1st District, Rhett Marques in the 2nd, Mike Rogers in the 3rd, Robert Aderholt in the 4th, Dale Strong in the 5th and Gary Palmer in the 6th.

Trump called the ten candidates "great patriots" who have his "complete and total endorsement," and included in his post a link to a website mobilizing voters to vote early. Alabama is a traditionally Republican stronghold, and the full-slate endorsement is seen as Trump's latest top-down move to consolidate the state GOP lineup ahead of the midterms, further narrowing the room for primary challengers.
