Ahead of Trump's Sunday Rally in Port Huron, St. Clair County Community College Closes Campus Starting October 23

St. Clair County Community College (SC4) in Port Huron, Michigan, announced this week that because of a large rally President Trump plans to attend nearby, its campus will close starting Friday, October 23, and reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, October 26.

In an email, the college's chief of staff, Sarah Rutallie, said all academic buildings will be locked during the closure and faculty, staff and students should not come to campus. The college is not involved in the event, but because the campus sits next to the venue, traffic, logistics and crowds are expected to disrupt normal operations, and the temporary closure supports public safety preparations. An SC4 band concert set for Saturday, October 24, will be postponed, while a soccer match the same day at the SC4 soccer field in Marysville will go ahead; the college's theater and bank building remain open on October 23–24 and close on the 25th.

According to the Port Huron Times Herald's October 21 report, the midterm rally is scheduled for Sunday, October 25, at McMorran Place Arena (701 McMorran Blvd.), with doors at 11:30 a.m. and Trump set to speak at 3 p.m.; the event is free but requires advance ticket registration, up to four tickets per registration. The McMorran Theatre in the same complex previously confirmed that its October 23, 8 p.m. performance of The Rocky Horror Show is unaffected and will go on as scheduled, while a Port Huron Prowlers hockey game set for the arena that day has been postponed to a date not yet announced, with purchased tickets to be honored.
