Two Former Libertarian Nominees Endorse Kissick, Giving Ohio Governor's Race a Third Option

On October 22, 2026, the Libertarian Party of Ohio announced in a news release that two of its former gubernatorial nominees — Charlie Earl (2014) and Travis Irvine (2018) — have formally endorsed this year's Libertarian candidate for governor, Don Kissick.
Irvine said this year's governor's race has grown increasingly heated, while Kissick has stayed focused on issues Ohioans care about, such as data centers, license plate reader cameras and property taxes, and he urged voters who have lost support or respect for the two major-party candidates to consider Kissick. Earl said Kissick stands for streamlined, cost-effective government and opposes excessive taxation and waste.
The party also noted that under a state law passed in 2013, Kissick must win at least 3 percent of the total vote in this year's gubernatorial election for the Libertarian Party to retain its ballot access going forward. The major-party candidates in this year's Ohio governor's race are Democrat Amy Acton and Republican Vivek Ramaswamy; Election Day is November 3.
