Berliner Philharmoniker on Tour in Argentina: Petrenko Conducts Elgar and Tchaikovsky at Teatro Colón on October 22

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — The Berliner Philharmoniker performed at the Teatro Colón on the evening of October 22 at 8 p.m. local time, conducted by chief conductor Kirill Petrenko. The concert was a guest performance on the orchestra's tour; the orchestra's website notes that the event did not take place in Berlin, with tickets sold through the Teatro Colón.
The programme paired Edward Elgar's Enigma Variations, Op. 36, before the interval with Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4 in F minor, Op. 36, after it — two signature works that happen to share the same opus number.
The Teatro Colón is Buenos Aires' principal opera and concert venue. The orchestra's tour calendar also lists its further dates at the theatre for local audiences.
