Glenvil Man Sentenced to 72 Months After Kilogram of Cocaine Found in Return Trip From Chicago

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Nebraska announced that Luis Molina, 33, of Glenvil, Nebraska, has been sentenced in federal court in Lincoln for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture containing cocaine, and possession with intent to distribute the same.
On October 22, U.S. District Judge Susan M. Bazis sentenced Molina to a total of 72 months' imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system. After his release, Molina will begin a five-year term of supervised release. Co-defendant Kenneth Palenzuela pleaded guilty on July 8, 2026, and was sentenced on October 15 to 24 months' imprisonment followed by five years of supervised release. Chanda Schroyer pleaded guilty on January 14, 2026, and is set for sentencing on November 5, 2026.
On June 9, 2025, Molina and his co-defendants drove from Nebraska to Chicago in Schroyer's vehicle. Upon arrival, Molina met with an individual to pick up a kilogram of cocaine. On June 10, 2025, the group began the drive back to Nebraska. After they entered the state, a Nebraska State Patrol trooper observed their vehicle speeding and conducted a traffic stop, with Molina driving.
The trooper smelled marijuana and searched the vehicle. A small amount of marijuana was found in a purse in the front passenger area, and a black backpack under the back seat contained a cellophane bundle of suspected cocaine. The state crime laboratory confirmed the bundle contained over one kilogram of cocaine. A drug ledger was also found in the vehicle.
The case was investigated by the Nebraska State Patrol Commercial Interdiction Unit in Omaha and the TRIDENT and CODE Task Forces, whose members include the North Platte Police Department, the Lexington Police Department, the Dawson County Sheriff's Office, the Ogallala Police Department, the Nebraska State Patrol, the FBI, and Homeland Security Investigations.
