Grand Canyon North Rim Stays Open Through November 30 as Two Scenic Roads Close for Repairs Until November 3

Friday, October 23, 2026 · Culture & Travel · GSM News

The National Park Service (NPS) has published the fall operating schedule for the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park: the North Rim remains open through November 30, though it may close earlier if the first major snow arrives, and State Route 67, the entrance road, will close at sunset on November 30.

The park advised that Cape Royal Road and Point Imperial Road have been closed since sunset on October 15 for road repairs and are expected to reopen at sunrise on November 3. The North Rim campground, general store and gas station have all ended their season, and visitors in the coming weeks should bring their own supplies.

The park is also taking public input on its long-term recovery and rebuilding vision for the North Rim, with a 30-day public engagement period running from October 6 to November 6 through the NPS website.
