Delaware: Attorney General Sues Glock Over Pistols Easily Converted Into Illegal Machine Guns

Friday, October 23, 2026 · States · GSM News

Delaware Attorney General Kathleen Jennings announced on October 22 a civil lawsuit against arms dealer Glock, Inc. and Glock Ges.m.b.H. under the Keshall 'KeKe' Anderson Safe Firearm Sales Act. The lawsuit alleges the company has knowingly designed, marketed and sold handguns that can be easily converted into illegal machine guns using so-called 'Glock switches.'

The design of Glock pistols allows them to be easily, quickly and cheaply transformed into weapons capable of firing up to 1,200 rounds per minute using inexpensive conversion devices, the Attorney General's office said. Glock has known for decades that its design makes these conversions possible, yet has refused to adopt safety features that would prevent them, and instead continued to market the products to civilians even as law enforcement nationwide reported a surge in violence involving converted Glock handguns. The complaint outlines multiple seizures of illegally converted Glocks in Delaware and alleges Glock ignored warnings from federal authorities.

'Our communities, and communities across America, are being terrorized by weapons with destructive power never intended or legal for civilian use. Glock knew. They could have acted. They chose profit over people,' Jennings said. The state asserts five causes of action, including violations of Delaware's firearm industry accountability statute and common-law public nuisance. The lawsuit seeks an injunction barring Glock from distributing easily convertible pistols to civilians in the state, along with restitution and damages. It does not affect Glock sales to law enforcement.
