Maryland: State Supports Creation of 150 New Affordable Apartments in Baltimore

Maryland Governor Wes Moore's office announced on October 22 that the state is supporting the creation of 150 new affordable apartments in Baltimore through strategic housing investments.
Expanding the supply of affordable housing has been a stated priority of the administration, and the governor has said state investment should be used to draw in local and private capital and add homes within reach of working families. Baltimore is Maryland's largest city, and parts of the city have long faced aging housing stock and vacant properties, with state and city governments working together on housing and neighborhood revitalization in recent years.
The 150 apartments are part of the state's housing investment efforts. State officials said strategic housing investments are intended to direct funds to locations where they can deliver the greatest community benefit, in coordination with local development plans.
Details including the site, developer and construction timeline for the apartments are to be announced by the state's housing and community development officials and the project partners.
