Oklahoma: Medical Marijuana Authority Director to Step Down at Month-End: Deputy Named Interim Director

Friday, October 23, 2026 · States · GSM News

In Oklahoma, Adria Berry, executive director of the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority, will step down effective October 30, ending a five-year tenure. Governor Kevin Stitt has appointed Jason Yingling, the authority's deputy chief of compliance and enforcement, to serve as interim director through January 2027.

Berry has led the agency since 2021, a period in which the state's medical marijuana industry saw increased regulatory enforcement, declining business licenses and ongoing efforts to eliminate illegal operations. After leaving the post, she will remain in the Stitt administration as Secretary of Licensing and Regulation through the conclusion of the governor's term in January.

The authority is one of Oklahoma's most closely watched regulatory agencies, overseeing licensing, compliance and enforcement for medical marijuana businesses and patients. The Governor's Office said the interim appointment comes from within the agency's enforcement ranks and that day-to-day regulatory work will continue during the transition.
