Singer Charli XCX is set to play a cameo in Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese's upcoming film 'What Happens at Night,' alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, Variety reported on October 23.
The Apple and StudioCanal production is a Gothic psychological drama about an American married couple who travel to a small European town to adopt a baby, but as they struggle to claim their child, the less they seem to know about themselves. Charli XCX's part is being kept under wraps; the cast also includes Mads Mikkelsen, Patricia Clarkson and Jared Harris.
The film is Scorsese's follow-up to 2023's 'Killers of the Flower Moon,' which was nominated for 10 Academy Awards including Best Picture; no release date has been announced. Charli XCX has been building a film career in recent years, appearing in seven movies over the past two years. According to Variety, she is wrapping up the U.S. leg of her tour for her new album in Las Vegas before heading to Europe in February.
