Trump Casts His Midterm Ballot In Person in Florida: Says He Voted All Republican Before Heading to a Georgia Rally

Saturday, October 24, 2026 · White House · GSM News

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump cast their midterm early ballots in person on October 24 at the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections office in West Palm Beach, Florida. According to pool reports, the couple arrived at 3:58 p.m. Eastern; Trump told reporters "everything is good" as he walked in, and when asked after voting whether he had voted along party lines, he replied, "Very much so," according to The Associated Press. Trump wore an "I Voted" sticker after casting his ballot. The motorcade left the polling location at 4:36 p.m. and reached the airport minutes later, and Trump then headed to Perry, Georgia, for a rally supporting Republican candidates.

Sounding hoarse, Trump told reporters after voting that the schedule of rallies was "a strain on your voice," adding, "It's not normal, what I've done," and: "It's hard because I'm not campaigning for myself - I'm campaigning for other people, some of whom I don't know." He also said: "A sitting president always does badly in the midterms. There's no president that's ever campaigned like I have." Trump said he had spent about an hour that morning hitting golf balls at Trump International Golf Club without playing a full round: "I wasn't in the mood to play. Because I'm too busy." He had campaigned in Fort Myers, Florida, on October 23 before arriving in Palm Beach and spending the night at Mar-a-Lago.

It was Trump's first in-person vote this year: he voted by mail in Florida's March special election for a state House seat and in the state's Republican primary in August, even as he has repeatedly criticized mail-in voting and pushed for restrictions on it. Early voting in Palm Beach County for the November 3 general election began October 19 and runs through November 1. The November 3 elections will determine whether Republicans retain control of Congress for the final two years of Trump's presidency. Asked about the Justice Department's review of California voter rolls, Trump said on Saturday that the figure "could be as high as a million votes" and that the 20,000 ballots ordered segregated for verification were "just a little bit" of it.
