Portland's 27th Annual Homeownership Fair Held October 24: Free Entry With a Down Payment Assistance Door Prize

The 27th Annual Homeownership Fair was held on October 24 in Portland, Oregon, hosted by the African American Alliance for Homeownership (AAAH), a nonprofit housing counseling organization. The free public event ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Portland, 1000 NE Multnomah St, Portland, OR 97232.
According to the organizer, the fair was built around helping residents obtain, retain, sustain and maintain homeownership. Housing professionals and community resource organizations staffed booths, and a series of workshops covered first-time buying, home-retention options and building generational wealth. The program also included family activities, music and food.
Attendees were entered for a down payment assistance door prize, and advance registrants were eligible for a pre-raffle drawing for a $100 Visa gift card.
AAAH is a HUD-approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit housing counseling agency whose mission is to increase homeownership opportunities and economic stability for African Americans and other underserved groups. Beyond the annual fair, it offers homebuyer counseling, free estate planning, energy-efficiency upgrades and home repairs.
