The Los Angeles Police Department said four men were arrested late on October 23 after a pursuit near the Watts neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, in an incident that included an officer-involved shooting. Two rifles and a handgun were recovered, and no one was injured.

According to the LAPD's Media Relations Division, officers were dispatched at about 10:50 p.m. on Friday to a report of a man with a rifle in the area of Central Avenue and 96th Street. Officers saw a male suspect outside a vehicle armed with a rifle near Avalon Boulevard and Century Boulevard. As they made a U-turn, the suspect entered the vehicle and fled, and officers pursued the vehicle, which carried four occupants.

Near 96th Street and Pace Avenue, the driver abruptly stopped and an officer-involved shooting occurred, police said. Two occupants fled on foot while the other two remained in the vehicle and were taken into custody without incident. Officers established a perimeter and, with assistance from LAPD K-9 units, located the two who had fled and took them into custody without further incident.

The LAPD said no suspects were struck by gunfire and no officers or community members were injured. Two rifles and a handgun were recovered at the scene. The department's Force Investigation Division is investigating the officer-involved shooting.
