A three-time Golden Horse Award winner, her signature films include The Mountain Road, The Last Emperor and The Joy Luck Club. She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2025, a lifetime achievement award at the Shanghai International Film Festival this June, and induction into the Asian Hall of Fame's class of 2026. The Awards Gala is a centerpiece of this year's festival: alongside the tribute and the premiere of Leaving a Trace, the evening will present the festival's awards. The organizing committee includes chief advisor Anna Shaoai Chi, festival chair Donald Martin and jury chair Peggy Chiao.
Special guest Song Jia is a writer, screenwriter and producer who twice won the Hundred Flowers Award for Best Actress, for Deep in the Courtyard and The Wind of Luoshan, appeared in films and series including Sister-in-Law and Settled Dust, and authored the novels Falling for the Director and The Existence You Cannot See, working at the crossroads of literary original IP and screen art.
Now in its fourth year, the International Chinese Original IP Film Festival promotes original Chinese-language stories and IP development. The gala is open to the public; seating is subject to the organizer's ticketing page.
