Temecula Plein Air Exhibition: Local Resident Teen Shows Old Town Shop Painting

Saturday, October 24, 2026 · Society · GSM News

In Temecula, Riverside County, California, entries from the 19th Annual Ralph Love Plein Air Competition are on display at the Temecula Valley Museum, from October 9 through November 8. Among the exhibitors is a local teenager whose painting depicts a shop and a street in Old Town.

In the gallery, the teen stood beside her painting, pointing to the building in it as she spoke with visitors. Her canvas centers on one of Old Town's old buildings: a wooden storefront, a sunset-colored sky and people on the street, all in bright color. Local students and parents were among the visitors that day.

Hosted by the City of Temecula, the competition honors local artist Ralph Love, who painted in his Art Shack studio in what is now Old Town and whose work is highly collectible. During the competition, artists paint outdoors at locations across the city, taking Old Town streets, wine country, landmarks and natural scenery as their subjects. The city's description of the exhibition is brief: enjoy the beauty of Temecula through the eyes of talented local artists.

For a local teenager, having a work selected for a city exhibition like this is itself a part of community life. The exhibition continues, and residents are welcome to visit.
