Cathy Fun Fitness: Free Daily Zoom Workouts at 4:30 p.m. Pacific, Run by a Silicon Valley Chinese American Platform for 2,000+ Days

A free fitness platform founded by a Chinese American in Silicon Valley has run every single day for more than 2,000 days. Cathy Fun Fitness streams live workout classes on Zoom daily from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time, entirely free of charge, with talks on careers, marriage, parenting, health and medicine woven into the Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday schedules.
The platform was founded by Cathy Peng on March 28, 2020, in Silicon Valley. As friends struggled with isolation during the pandemic, she began leading a daily hour of fitness and dance on Zoom. According to the platform, it has not missed a day in more than five years, drawing over one million participant visits, with more than 20 volunteer instructors teaching Zumba, yoga, square dancing, ballroom dance, body shaping and strength training, alongside more than 3,000 hours of free public lectures. Participants join from the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Chicago, Houston and New York, as well as cities in Canada and China.
Two volunteer instructors lead each daily session. The regular class runs Monday to Sunday, 4:30–6:00 p.m. Pacific (7:30–9:00 p.m. Eastern), Zoom meeting 889 0406 8282, passcode 8888. Weekend programming adds three sessions, including a Saturday and Sunday morning class, 8:00–9:00 a.m. Pacific (11:00 a.m.–noon Eastern), Zoom meeting 827 2525 5336, passcode 8888. Classes and talks are also posted on its YouTube channel, Fun Fitness Dance, and its website is cfunfitness.org.
Under its motto "Be Happy, Be Healthy," all classes are free and open to the public with no registration required — just open Zoom and enter the meeting number.
