No. 9 UCLA beat Michigan State 28-10 in a Big Ten regular-season game at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, Los Angeles County, California, on October 24, improving to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the Big Ten — UCLA's first 7-0 start since 2005 and the eighth in program history. UCLA is the Big Ten's lone remaining undefeated team, and according to UCLA's official postgame notes only three undefeated FBS teams remain: UCLA, Miami and Utah. Head coach Bob Chesney is the first UCLA coach ever to start his tenure 7-0, and he has now won 17 consecutive regular-season games dating back to 2025.

UCLA started slowly: Michigan State led 7-0 in the first quarter on a 14-yard touchdown pass from third-string quarterback Kayd Coffman, who, in his first career start, completed 4 of 10 passes for 42 yards. UCLA then scored 28 straight points: Jaivian Thomas tied it with a 7-yard touchdown run, Wayne Knight put UCLA ahead with a 1-yard run — his 12th rushing touchdown of the season and his seventh straight game with one — Ty Dieffenbach hit Brian Rowe Jr. for a 63-yard touchdown early in the third quarter, and Anthony Woods added a rushing touchdown. Dieffenbach completed 18 of 31 passes for 198 yards; Woods led UCLA with 112 yards on 14 carries as the Bruins rushed for 245 yards; Rowe Jr. set a career high with 74 receiving yards on three catches, and Semaj Morgan caught seven passes for 70 yards.

On defense, UCLA held Michigan State to a season-low 156 yards of total offense — just 47 rushing and 109 passing — outgaining the Spartans 443-156. Michigan State converted only 2 of 11 third downs, Malik Hartford recorded both a forced fumble and a fourth-quarter interception, and Donavyn Pellot returned an interception 67 yards. Liam Boyd's 46-yard field goal in the fourth quarter made it 28-10. Michigan State fell to 2-6 overall and 0-5 in the Big Ten with its sixth straight loss. UCLA next hosts Nevada at the Rose Bowl Stadium on October 31.
