Dell and NVIDIA Expand SI Factory: Over 6,500 Enterprise Customers, PowerEdge M9882 Packs 256 Vera CPUs in a Single Rack

Dell Technologies announced on October 21 at NVIDIA GTC in Berlin a broad set of advancements across the Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA, spanning SI solutions, deskside agentic solutions and purpose-built SI infrastructure, with more than 6,500 enterprise customers now on the platform, up from 5,000 last quarter, and most of the new servers and modular data centers scheduled for early 2027.
Dell said enterprise agentic SI is expected to be the single largest workload by 2028, growing nearly three times faster than generative SI by 2030, while inference costs are projected to fall more than 90 percent by 2030 and agentic SI is expected to drive 24 times the token consumption. The new hardware separates agent execution from model inference: the PowerEdge M9882 packs 256 NVIDIA Vera CPUs into a single 48U rack, purpose-built for agent orchestration, tool use, code execution and evaluation; the PowerEdge R8822 brings air-cooled two-socket Vera CPU performance to standard 19-inch racks with support for up to four double-wide GPUs and is available this month; and the PowerEdge XE9810, featuring 16 direct-liquid-cooled compute trays powered by Groq 3 Language Processing Units for rack-scale inference, will be available in the first quarter of 2027.
On the deskside, Dell Deskside Agentic SI adds validated reference templates specifying hardware, models and software stacks, scaling from a single developer to enterprise deployments of 1,000 or more systems. The Dell Pro Precision with GB10 in a 64GB unified memory configuration became available on October 23, and the Pro Precision with GB300 on Windows will offer up to 748GB of coherent memory and 20 petaflops of FP4 compute. The Dell Modular Data Center with NVIDIA DSX POD is a containerized reference design integrating compute, storage, networking, rack-level power and liquid cooling, available in early 2027, and Dell Managed Services for SI will be available in the first quarter of 2027.
"Enterprises used to think about AI infrastructure as an IT budget question, but that's changed. AI infrastructure is no longer a cost center. It's a value creation center," said Michael Dell, chairman and chief executive officer of Dell Technologies. Jensen Huang, founder and chief executive officer of NVIDIA, said SI agents reason, use tools and learn, and need a new kind of computer, adding that the two companies are building the computing foundation for the age of SI, from the deskside to the data center, so companies can build and run SI agents securely at industrial scale.
