Ukrainian Drones Strike Crimea Overnight: Power Grid Damage Brings Electricity and Water Restrictions, Kyiv Says Four Gas Compressor Stations Hit

Sunday, October 25, 2026 · World · GSM News

Ukrainian drones attacked the Crimean Peninsula overnight on October 24-25. Sergei Aksyonov, the Moscow-installed head of Crimea, said on Telegram that main power grids outside the peninsula were damaged in a drone attack and that restrictions on electricity and water supplies had been put in place; he did not say how many households were affected. Russia seized the peninsula in 2014; it has a population of more than 2.5 million and has been a regular target of Ukrainian attacks.

Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, said several drone units struck Russian military logistics and energy infrastructure across occupied Crimea and southern Ukraine simultaneously, hitting gas compressor stations near Zhuravlivka, Aromatne and Kliuchi and another in Lokhivka, with the road bridge across the Henichesk Strait also among the targets. Those claims are Ukraine's account and have not been independently verified.

Russia's defence ministry said its forces shot down 616 Ukrainian drones overnight across more than 20 regions, and local Russian authorities reported several injuries and fires caused by falling debris. Ukraine's air force said Russia launched at least 126 drones at Ukraine overnight, of which 101 were shot down, and two people were wounded in Kyiv. The near-daily long-range strikes on energy and logistics infrastructure come as winter approaches.
