DETROIT — The Detroit Lions beat the Green Bay Packers 20-17 at Ford Field on Sunday, October 25, in an NFL Week 7 NFC North matchup, winning on Jake Bates' 22-yard field goal as time expired. Detroit improved to 4-2 and stayed unbeaten at home at 3-0, while Green Bay fell to 4-3 and into last place in the division.

The lead changed hands throughout. Jared Goff opened the scoring with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Jameson Williams, and Jordan Love answered with a 14-yard strike to Tucker Kraft. Bates' 40-yard field goal put Detroit up 10-7 at halftime. In the third quarter Love found Josh Jacobs for a 25-yard touchdown before Goff and Williams connected again from 10 yards. Trey Smack's 43-yard field goal tied it 17-17 with 7:10 left.

With about five minutes to play, Detroit turned the ball over on downs at its own 22, but Green Bay could not cash in: Jacobs dropped a touchdown pass in the end zone and Smack's ensuing field-goal try was tipped by D.J. Wonnum and missed. The Lions then drove 71 yards in 10 plays over the final 3:21 to set up Bates' winner.

Goff finished 22-of-32 for 303 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. Amon-Ra St. Brown caught nine passes for 153 yards, Williams had five catches for 91 yards and both receiving touchdowns, and Jahmyr Gibbs ran 29 times for 116 yards. Love threw for 274 yards and two touchdowns with one interception, and Detroit outgained Green Bay 415 to 324. Compiled from reporting by the Detroit Free Press, Packers Wire and Sports Illustrated.
