Tzu Chi USA will stage the “Infinite Meaning: The Essence of Dharma” sutra adaptation performance on Sunday, November 1, 2026, in Walnut, California, celebrating the 60th anniversary of Tzu Chi's founding with music, sign language and drum performances. The event will be held at the gymnasium of the Tzu Chi Education Park, with tickets priced at $11 including transaction fees.
According to the event page published by Tzu Chi USA, the program begins at 1:00 p.m. on November 1, with the performance running from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m., followed by a tea reception until 4:30 p.m. The venue is the gymnasium at Tzu Chi Academy, Walnut, located at 1920 S. Tzu Chi USA said the performance brings Buddhist teachings of compassion and wisdom to life through music, sign language and powerful drum performances. Participating groups include the Dharma Boat performance team, Tzu Chi USA's sign language team, the STC Foundation together with Tzu Chi USA's youth group, the Tzu Chi Elementary School choir, the Walnut Shaolin Kung Fu Center, and the Tzu Chi choir. The program includes “Bells and Drums: A Hymn of Diligence,” a Shaolin kung fu performance, “A Beautiful Day,” the choral piece “By the Water's Edge,” and the sutra adaptation itself. According to Tzu Chi's Da Ai News, volunteers in Southern California have been rehearsing every weekend at the Tzu Chi headquarters campus since July 19, 2026.
Tzu Chi noted that the “Dharma Boat,” which set out from Southern California fifteen years ago, once moved audiences around the world; this year it returns to Southern California, with performers of different generations sharing the stage. The organization invites the public to attend with family and friends.
